# Mr. Smith (1)

Mr. Smith - that was how they treated him in the office where he held the office of chief of staff in the commercial area of a company importing plastics for processing.

Smith, Paul Smith, was born in a village in the south of England, in the midst of a humble family. Farmers by profession. At first, Paul showed signs of great negotiating capacity. At school the teacher would tell him, - If you study, you'll still be a great merchant - and really. it was the. He became a commercial chief, only three years after joining the company and all thanks to some negotiations that he had developed in the absence of the then chief of staff; He had done so with the permission of the administration. Since then, he has led the group of sixteen people who accompanied him.

When he took office, there were a few times when he was quietly overheard about Paul Smith being able to let go of the humility that characterized him, but this not only did not happen, as a leader appreciated even by the most skeptical. Not only did he work closely with his peers, but many times he stayed late in the office, trying to find solutions to some of the problems that were emerging.

The administration, at the door of his study, had placed a plaque on which to read - Mr. Smith. From that day on, Paul Smith was treated, by his collaborators, with polite and combative affection, for - Mr. Smith.

Paul Smith arrived in London to take the Economics course at the London School of Economics. With reference notes, he was easily accepted in the course he wanted. Finished the second year of graduation, was invited by Import.inc to integrate one of the teams that are dedicated to the analysis of market, elaboration of projects of purchases and negotiation. He accepted immediately. After all, the six thousand-pound salary that you were planning to earn would be enough to make your normal life, study, and send some money to his parents.

At the end of the first few months of work, Paul froze his enrollment at university, promising himself to return there at the beginning of the next school year. A promise that was postponed year after year. Ending the course was not an imposition of the company. He was always good at what he did and it always brought excellent results to the company.

At the age of twenty-eight, Paul was still single and not known to his friends by his girlfriend. Not that he had no suitors, but he always argued that he lacked the time and spirit to embrace official behavior. Self-styled "nomad of love". However, she would like to go out with friends and friends to have a good time, or go to a Pub at the end of the work day, to drink a beer, socialize and decompress the workday.

Since the rental of apartments in the city of london were very high, Paul chose to rent a small apartment in a small village about 30 kilometers from the center of the capital. Knowing that the traffic in the city center and its access in the morning, or abandonment by the twilight, is always chaotic, Paul had decided, since moving to the periphery of the capital, to move to and from work, using the train of the interior. The trip would take about twenty minutes, if there were no delays, and rarely there was. Every day he picked up the composition of six carriages at 8:19 a.m. He took the twenty-minute trip to read, which he enjoyed doing. The arrival at Saint-Pancras Station took place at 8:39 am, at exactly the same time of the composition coming from the south and the international coming from France.

The station of Saint-Pancras is a meeting point between all the railway lines of access to London, passage of Metropolitan, with respective stop, contiguous to a bus terminal and taxis. The daily movement in that space was of thousands of people and, at that time, in particular, it was of an authentic chaos.

From the station to the building where were the offices of Import.inc, it was a five-minute bus ride away. Since the check-in time was at 9:00 a.m., Paul Smith and his associates were usually in a bar adjacent to the office building. They drank black coffee, talked a little about the morning news, and then went up to the office and gave themselves to work hard.

The news came to the office as a form of advertisement. Of Import.inc's headquarters in Copenhagen, came the information that Paul Smith would become the new CEO of import.inc in the UK. The announcement had already arrived around 17:00 p.m.. Time the office was about to end its activities. Having Mr. Smith traveled to Denmark two days earlier and would be returning at that moment, flying over the ocean, only the next day could congratulate him on his appointment as CEO.

They agreed that the next day they would arrive earlier, and in the bar early in the morning a huge welcome reception,

Paul was thrilled to be appointed CEO of Import.inc, not because he had been promoted to such a high position, but because he saw all his work and dedication recognized. He did not know when he was informed that he should be present at the Copenhagen meeting that his call would be to inform him of his promotion.
